The wide road is for sleepwalkers. We are training our men for the crown, and that requires the sharp edge of discipline. Wake up. Take feedback. Kill offence. The team is in training so we can run the narrow track. To do this, we need to be coachable. We are in training!
Bold, stretched, retro-futuristic athletic type over deep, muted track colors — asphalt blacks and turf greens punctuated by stark, urgent accents. Captains in retro athletic apparel with whistles and Gatorade coolers from day one.

Full mood board with logo + visual references lives in the planning doc — Tobi Ogude, July 15.
The space designed as one continuous experience from the road to the camp — all in the agreed brand (Eurostile Extended, black/orange, Training Camp language).
A strong black flag right at the entrance as men drive in — empty, or carrying NARROW IS THE TRACK. A white flag means surrender; a black flag means the opposite. Sets the tone of grit from the first second.
Black scrims / temporary fencing along the driving lane — literally a narrow track. Controls traffic, blocks the main house, and becomes a canvas: printed photos of past years, theme phrases, and directional words like PROCEED and THIS WAY between them.
Fencing: Modern Fence rental (GTA) · Printing on fencing: Flags Unlimited
Truss banner overhead with our branding — C3 Assembly Men's Training Camp // Est. 2026 — and a registration desk built from reworked wooden pallets reading NARROW IS THE GATE.
Truss banners: Backdropsource · Pallets: Uline
With Benji's team — a bushcraft-style shelter (timber frame + shrink wrap) at the spot where Elijah & Kenwyn had their reception. Electrolytes, protein balls and powder sachets, water, first aid, a couple of seats, supervised volunteers. The camp's pitstop.
A borrowed broken-down car draped in a printed cover reading PARKING ENTRANCE, parked on an angle greeting arrivals — an installation instead of a banner or flag.
Everything in the agreed typography (Eurostile Extended) and Landon's black A-frame design from the Sunday sign-ups. Theme phrases on feature pieces; plain names on working signage (COOKING TENT, squad names). Squad captains submit names early so flags print in time. Windsocks mark the youth's narrow track at the Rite of Passage.

3–4 sheer A-frame walls — get all 50 men over, fastest squad wins.

Only the captain knows what's being built — listen, follow, build.

300lb awkward object, start to finish, never touching the grass.
Boogie-board shield wall retrieves an item under dodgeball fire.

Each squad's fastest man, resistance chute, timed. Looks great on camera.

50 men planking, ball passed under the line — fewest breaks wins.
Not proceeding: the "Carry the Load" boulder-on-chairs installation.
Rite of Passage · Worship & Teaching · Fireside Chats · Tribal Games · Tug o' War under Flood Lights
Joey owns activities from start to finish — a thorough plan on timing, how each party is involved, scoring, and the announcement of winners, so on the day it runs itself and every man is in the game, not watching from the side. Scope doc is with him: plan locked with Jesse + Bela early in the week of Sep 7, equipment and people secured by Fri Sep 11, and the plan in Captains' and Coaches' hands at the Tue Sep 15 leaders call.
Men land, squads gather. Basketball, football and soccer out and running as guys roll in over the two-hour arrivals window — low-barrier, anyone can jump in mid-way. Sets the energy from the first handshake.
Squad vs squad under the flood lights, straight after dinner. Bracket for 12 squads, pull format, rope safety, crowd positioning, and the winner moment before we move into worship.
The main event — a squad circuit after morning prayer. Starter ideas (Joey adds his own):
A roaming hydration & hype rig — a 4×4 tows a flatbed with cold-water and Gatorade coolers, a speaker with mic, and two refs in stripes, parking wherever the camp is. Joey thinks it through end to end: the vehicle + one named driver, coolers, ice & the refill loop, speaker + mic, music off the moment a session starts, and the camp's written OK. Concept page →
Scoring is Joey's to propose — standalone winners per event, or one weekend squad leaderboard building to a Saturday champion. And the plan goes into people's hands before the event: quick huddles on site are for aligning, not for delivering everything fresh on the day.
3852 The Grange Side Rd, Caledon Village — 100 acres of rolling hills, forest and meadow, about an hour northwest of downtown Toronto. Camp contact: retreats@scottmission.com · (905) 838-2713.
Cabin 1 (75 beds) and Cabin area 2 (75 beds) on two wooded hills — heated cabins, shared washroom blocks, bring your own bedding — plus the House (24 beds) for leaders, coaches and the fathers-and-sons block. No tent zone.
Renovated barn feeding Central: industrial kitchen, indoor fireplace, 120 seated, chapel included. The kitchen team needs a Food Handlers Certificate on site.

Confirmed menu from the food team — Sept 17–19.
To build: we need to create another one of these firepits. We currently have one stored at the old mens overnighter location.
Saturday 10:30 AM — young men 12–18 with their fathers. The stations below are an initial brainstorm, modelled on the Men's Emerge rite of passage (April 2026) — a gauntlet run squad by squad, opened with a commissioning and closed with a blessing.
Waiting on Muna: his full Youth masterplan is coming and will include his plan for the Rite of Passage. The station list below is brainstorm material for that plan — nothing here is locked.
Squads assemble at first light. The commissioning — the charge for the morning — is given from the tower before a single step is run.
A tarped mound with water flying — up the slick face and over the top while the whole camp rings the obstacle and roars.
One at a time, each man sprints the corridor — fires burning along the line, brothers on both sides calling him through.
The big timber ladder wall — up one side, over the top rail, down the other. Squadmates spot from below; nobody goes over alone.
Low crawl under the mesh panels — chest in the dirt, flags marking the route, no shortcuts through.
The long stretch — bear crawls up the grade, sit-ups on the road, runs between stations. Where the morning gets earned.
Grappling drills in the dust — squared off, locked up, pushing until the whistle. Coaches close in on every pair.
Leopard crawls in a line up the road, then buddy carries up the hill — every man carries, every man gets carried.
The trail through the scrub to the lookout, then the log walk over the gully — steady feet, arms out, eyes up.
The finale — up the cargo net and straight off into the plunge pool, the whole camp packed around the water. Nobody forgets this one.
It ends the way it matters — a father or mentor with his hand on each man's shoulder, praying over him one on one before the squads walk back into camp.
The moment: engraved-name dog tags on a chain, given to the boys as they enter manhood — presented by their fathers at the end of the Rite of Passage. With Ben Jager — tags and engraving are his; awaiting his update. Names collected at registration.

As our numbers scale, our strategy must evolve. Squads ensure the event expands without losing the man.
Launch regional squads (Downtown, Midtown, Hamilton) to decentralize campsites and secure small-group connection. Capacity: 350–500 men. The move to campground format demands logistical excellence.
Squads become fully self-sustained units handling their own campsites, fire circles and cooking. Capacity: 500+.
The one-pager for Squad Captains, 2iCs & Coaches: 12 squads · one camp · each squad 1 Captain, 1 2iC, 2+ Coaches. Key moments where captains are the voice — welcome, morning prayer, tug o' war, squad games, fireside chats, setup & teardown — plus the full weekend schedule and the follow-up plan.
Practical measures that a man leaves unoffendable and coachable — defined with you before the event.
Squad captains recruited, squads full (25 each), setup/food/packdown owned before the day, every man followed into a Connect Group after.
Work with the Discipleship Pathway team to measure engagement in the Fall Connect Season. Identify all the leaders of male connect groups and create a moment for captains to help men sign up to a connect group and the next mens event.
